Have you ever thought about how you perceive time?
How is it built?
Why do we talk about present, past, future?
Today, tomorrow, yesterday ...
How do we measure time?
How do we value it?
This is a work that is built to continue to develop constantly a piece that is part of the past, the present and perhaps the future.
I’ve been wanting to start my experience in the Netherlands for months and I had imagined it as a unique experience, which has not come true because of a pandemic.
This work is based on my conception of what my current life would be like. I think we tend to imagine our future, so I’ve been interested in time, especially in the field of philosophy: It has been my inspiration to create a story that is built from reality and imagination.
My source of inspiration has been Nietzsche’s theory: The Eternal Return, which tells us that time is perceived circularly. This makes you question every moment of your life, which according to Nietzsche if repeated, would be the same.
I present to you the sequence of my study, represented on a roll of paper in three different languages, which are part of my day today.
It is a piece that has the same parameters as time. Therefore, it is not built from a beggining and does not necessarily have an end. It is a very abstract subject, I used this theory to develop as a starting point and from there on the fly.
I invite you to immerse yourself and understand it as you think, to ask yourself questions, only if necessary, so that you can talk about the weather and see that it varies according to each person’s perception.
It is a visual work and also, if you want it can be a collective one, with which we can exchange thoughts, you can contact me by email to do so.
